Urgent manhunt with gunman on loose as shooting near school leaves one injured | UK | News
Police are urgently hunting for a gunman on the loose following a shooting last night.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after gunfire was reported near a school in London.
At around 9.10pm on December 19, the Metropolitan Police were called to Washbourne Road in Harlesden, London, following reports of a gunfire.
Within five minutes, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived who found the victim with a gunshot wound. The man was then rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries which were assessed as not life threatening.
Detectives are continuing to conduct enquiries on Washbourne Road while a crime scene stays in place. Officers are yet to make any arrests in connection to the incident as the gunman remains at large.
The Metropolitan Police have issued a statement urging anyone with information to come forward:
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, with a gunshot injury.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life-threatening. A crime scene remains in place.
“There has been no arrest, and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
A spokesperson for a London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.14pm yesterday to reports of a shooting incident in Washbourne Road, NW10.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response car and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived in five minutes.
“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road.”
