The number of billionaires around the world has surged in 2024, setting new records.
In their 38th annual rich list, Forbes found 2,781 billionaires with a total net wealth of $14.2 trillion (£11.2trn).
This is an increase of 141 members and $2 trillion (£1.6 trn) from 2023, which held the previous record for the highest net worth gain on the list.
