GTA 6 Trailer 2 won’t debut at The Game Awards and this proves it | Gaming | Entertainment

The annual Game Awards take place later this week, complete with a host of new game announcements, trailers and surprises.

After a year without any new GTA 6 footage from Rockstar Games, one surprise fans are particularly clamouring for is the release of the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer.

Unfortunately, however, a recent announcement suggests we may have to wait a little longer for GTA 6 Trailer 2.

Publisher 2K recently confirmed plans to showcase upcoming open-world action game Mafia The Old Country during The Game Awards.

“Mafia The Old Country has been confirmed for a full world premiere reveal on Thursday during The Game Awards,” reads a tweet from the event organisers.

Mafia publisher 2K and GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games are both subsidiaries of Take-Two Interactive, which makes it unlikely both games will make an appearance during the event.

An appearance by GTA 6 would completely overshadow the reveal of Mafia The Old Country, which would be counterproductive for Take Two.

I could be wrong (and I really hope I am), but if GTA 6 Trailer 2 does drop this year, then expect it to happen independently of The Game Awards.

However, with GTA 6 being nominated for Most Anticipated Game at the event, there’s a good chance we could at least get an official update from Rockstar Games when a spokesperson collects the award.

We’ll know for sure when The Game Awards takes place on December 12 (or December 13 for fans in the UK).

Something definitely appears to be in the works, after a user on Reddit noticed that Rockstar recently updated the GTA 6 YouTube playlist.

The playlist was previously updated following the release of Trailer 1, which has led to speculation that a second trailer could drop in the coming days.

What we do know for sure is that Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.

Rockstar explains: “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

The previously released trailer gives fans a look some of the map locations as seen from the skies above. This includes locations based on the Florida Keys, as well as the beach and more.

The trailer also hints at a potential game-changing new feature for Grand Theft Auto 6, which will up the scale to never-before-seen levels.
