DSE on a Freefall

Share prices of most issues fell on Wednesday as the country’s main bourse picked up downtrend from the previous day when trading had seen a two year low.

The benchmark general index, the gauge of Dhaka Stock Exchange, dipped 98 points, to reach 4,408 points, at 11:50am when this report was filed.

A total of 28,046 trades were executed, generating Tk 78.90 crore on the Dhaka bourse.

In  DSE, 217 issues declined, 10 advanced and eight remained unchanged.

Though the trading opened with a steep drop reaching 4,432 points in first 10 minutes, the DGEN gained 28 points in the following 10 minutes only to fall again.

At 11:40am, the index,reached 4382 points. However it started to rise and continued the gain for 15 minutes till 11:50am.

On Tuesday the trading closed at 4,506 points.
